Quantum Systems Raises $208 Million at a $3.5 Billion Valuation

Quantum Systems is a technology company specializing in the development, design, and production of small Unmanned Aerial Systems, commonly known as drones. Initially focused on drones for applications like agriculture and mapping, the company has increasingly pivoted toward dual-use technology, with a strong emphasis on the defense sector, providing surveillance and reconnaissance drones to governments and militaries.

Quantum Systems has raised an additional $208 million in a funding round, bringing its valuation to $3.5 billion. The funding was led by Balderton Capital, V Capital, DTCP, Thiel Capital, Project A, Airbus Ventures, Omnes Capital, and ScaleUp Fonds Bayern.

Quantum Systems, headquartered in Gilching, Bayern, Germany, was founded in 2015 by Florian Seibel and Armin Busse. In May 2025, the company joined the unicorn club. “Triple unicorn status is a testament to our team’s ability to build systems and a company that performs in the most demanding real-world conditions,” said Florian Seibel, Quantum Systems co-founder and co-CEO.
