Acronis Raises $250 Million at $3.5 Billion Valuation

Acronis is a company that provides cybersecurity and data protection software. The platform, the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud focuses on making the work of managed service providers easier. Such service providers are companies that assist their clients in running IT infrastructure. Thus, Acronis secures their customer’s IT systems, as well as backs up business data in case of the event of an outage. 

The funding round investments came from several investors, including the participation of BlackRock. The money raised will be used for sales and marketing team growth, also to make acquisitions, and to support ecosystem partners.

Acronis, Switzerland, was founded by Serguei Beloussov, Ilya Zubarev, and Stanislav Protassov in 2003. As of now, the company’s platform is used by more than 20 000 managed service providers. The Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud provides tools for malware detection in corporate networks, blocking spam and phishing attempts, and spotting unauthorized attempts to download sensitive data. Except for the platform, the company offers two other software products that combine cybersecurity features with data protection tools. Acronis’s client base includes over 750 000 businesses and 5.5 million clients around the world. Acronis is a single platform with all the features necessary for cybersecurity and data protection, and this simplifies IT operations for customers, by easing day-to-day tasks.
