Neuralink Raises Additional $43 Million

Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that has been developing brain-machine interface technology. The company has developed a state-of-the-art neural implant called the Neuralink device. This tiny, flexible implant is designed to be implanted within the brain, connecting individual neurons with external computing devices. The company intends to bridge the gap between humans and machines by developing high-bandwidth brain-machine interfaces, “achieve a sort of symbiosis with artificial intelligence” and possibly enable telepathic communication with the device.

Neuralink has raised an additional $43 million in venture capital. The filing showed that the company raised its previous tranche, led by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, from $280 million to $323 million in early August. Thirty-two investors participated in the round. Neuralink’s valuation has not recently disclosed. However, in June the company was valued at around $5 billion.

Neuralink, Fremont, California, United States, was founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and Max Hodak. Neuralink’s ultimate goal is to enhance human cognition, alleviate neurological disorders, and unlock the potential of the human brain.
