Perplexity Raises $100 Million at an $18 Billion Valuation

Perplexity AI is an AI-native search platform delivering direct, conversational answers—cutting through noise with clarity and speed. Its suite of tools, including Comet, a newly launched AI-powered browser, combines search, summarization, and task automation to streamline how users find and interact with information. With over 30 million users globally and growing traction across both consumer and enterprise markets, Perplexity is redefining the future of information access.

The company has raised 100 million dollars in new funding at a valuation of 18 billion dollars. The extension round included participation from SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2, Nvidia, NEA, IVP, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun. Perplexity has now raised capital five times in the past 18 months, reflecting its rapid growth and market momentum.

Perplexity, headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States, was founded in 2022 by Aravind Srinivas, Johnny Ho, Denis Yarats, and Andy Konwinski. In 2024, the company joined the unicorn club. With this new capital, Perplexity aims to scale infrastructure, drive Comet’s development, and expand its monetization engine across subscriptions, advertising, and commerce—cementing its position as a leader in consumer AI.
