Quantum Systems Raises Over $170 Million and Hits Unicorn Status

Quantum Systems is a defense technology company specializing in AI-powered aerial intelligence solutions for defense and emergency response. It develops advanced unmanned aerial systems that leverage artificial intelligence to collect, analyze, and interpret data for critical decision-making. These systems are designed for real-time surveillance, monitoring, and situational awareness. By enabling faster, smarter insights, Quantum Systems helps enhance operational efficiency, safety, and effectiveness in high-stakes environments.

Quantum Systems has raised about $170 million in Series C funding led by Balderton Capital, making it one of the few unicorns in the European defense tech sector.

Quantum Systems, headquartered in Gilching, Bayern, Germany, was founded in 2015 by Armin Busse and Florian Seibel. “The need for sovereign, aerial intelligence has never been more pressing. Our systems, a powerful blend of hardware and software, are built for the realities of modern defense and security challenges – they are autonomous, interoperable, and proven under harsh conditions. With support from our new and existing investors, we are ready to become the European leader in robotised and AI-powered aerial intelligence solutions, providing both public and commercial customers with the high-quality, accurate data they need for daily decision making,” said Florian Seibel, co-CEO and co-founder, Quantum Systems.
