Mainspring Raises $258 Million in Funding

Mainspring Energy develops and manufactures linear generators that efficiently convert fuel into electricity for onsite power generation. Mainspring Energy has raised $258 million in a Series F financing round. The new round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, DCVC, Temasek, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, M&G Investments, Pictet Group, and earlier investors including Lightrock and LGT Bank, Khosla Ventures, and Gates Frontier, among others.

Mainspring Energy, headquartered in Menlo Park, California, United States, was founded in 2010 by Adam Simpson, Matt Svrcek, and Shannon Miller. The company operates primarily in the United States, serving commercial, industrial, and utility sectors with clean, onsite power generation solutions.
