MotherDuck has secured $52.5 million in a Series B round led by Felicis with participation from a16z, Madrona, Amplify Partners, Altimeter, Redpoint, and Zero Prime. In total, MotherDuck has raised $100 million till that moment. The funding round brings MotherDuck’s valuation to $400 million valuation. The fresh funding will be used to grow the DuckDB-based platform.
MotherDuck, Seattle, Washington, United States, was founded in 2022 by Jordan Tigani, Leila Horejsi, Ryan Boyd, and Valentino Tereshko. “DuckDB takes a simplified scale-up approach to scaling, allowing us and the DuckDB team to focus on improving usability,” Tigani said. “We see MotherDuck increasingly used in place of Python or other local analytics tools for teams’ power and simplicity.”
