Nothing Raises $100 Million

Nothing is a consumer tech company that creates digital technology products. Nothing’s smartphone offers 18 hours of use with every charge, and two days on standby, and can reach 50 per cent power in just 30 minutes of charging. The phone is made up of a 100 per cent recycled aluminium frame which makes it light and robust, while over 50 per cent of the phone’s plastic components are made with bio-based or post-consumer recycled materials. Moreover, the company also has released earbuds and a sound stick.

Smartphone startup Nothing locked up a $96 million funding round. The new round was led by Highland Europe, with participation from existing investors GV, EQT Ventures and C Capital. Music group Swedish House Mafia also participated.

Nothing, London, England, United Kingdom, was founded in 2020 by AkisEvangelidis and Carl Pei. Nothing was launched with the aim of creating earphones and smartphones with unique designs and user experiences to stand out in the gadget world. “In just over two years, we’ve assembled one of the strongest teams in the industry and sold over 1.5 million devices worldwide,” co-founder and CEO Carl Pei said in a release. “It’s clear that there’s real demand for an innovative challenger in the consumer tech industry, and with this new round of financing, we’ve never been better positioned to realize our vision to make tech fun again.”
