Cohere Raises $270 Million at $2.1-2.2 Billion Valuation

Cohere is an innovative platform that gives developers and businesses access to NLP, powered by the latest generation of easy-to-deploy large language models. The company develops language models for content moderation, analysis, and chatbot, which helps to improve human-machine interactions. The startup has created a platform that can be used in different libraries that fit in every stack.

Artificial intelligence startup Cohere has raised $270 million in a series C round from a mix of venture capital and strategic investors including Nvidia, Oracle, Salesforce Ventures, and others. Cohere’s valuation is reported to be $2.1-2.2 billion. “We are at the beginning of a new era driven by accelerated computing and generative AI,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, in a statement. “The team at Cohere has made foundational contributions to generative AI. Their service will help enterprises around the world harness these capabilities to automate and accelerate.” In total, Cohere has raised $415 million till that moment.

Cohere, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, was founded by former Google Alphabet researchers Aidan Gomez, Ivan Zhang, and Nick Frosst in 2019. “As the early excitement about generative AI shifts toward ways to accelerate businesses, companies are looking to Cohere to position them for success in a new era of technology,” CEO Aidan Gomez said.
