ShiftKey is a startup developing a scheduling and credential management platform designed to combat the national healthcare shortage by connecting healthcare professionals with healthcare enterprises. The company’s mobile app allows healthcare workers to browse, bid on, and work nearby “PRN shifts” to cover for absent employees. ShiftKey’s software enables work for thousands of licensed professionals across over 10,000 healthcare facilities nationwide.
The company’s capital raise was led by Lorient Capital through a continuation vehicle guided by the Ares Management Secondaries funds and Pantheon. Additional investors include Clearlake Capital and Health Velocity Capital.
ShiftKey, Dallas, United States, was founded by technology entrepreneur and innovator Tom Ellis in 2016. “Nurses continue to choose to work on their own terms,” said Tom Ellis, founder and CEO of ShiftKey. “Our vision is to empower nurses and other licensed professionals through the combination of our core marketplace product, along with additional technology and tools such as scheduling, payments, education, and credentialing.”
