Anduril Raises $1.48 Billion at an $8.48 Billion Valuation

Anduril Industries is a defense company that provides border surveillance and military agencies with specially built technologies. Bringing together computer vision, AI, robotics, new networking technologies, and cybersecurity, the startup develops hardware and software-based defense services. Anduril is mostly known for drones and surveillance towers.

The Series E funding round was led by Valor Equity Partners. Among other investors were Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, 8VC, Lux Capital, Thrive Capital, DFJ Growth, Elad Gil, Lachy Groom, Human Capital, Marlinspike, WCM Investment Management, MVP Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures, Innovative Technology Fund (USIT).

Anduril, California, USA was founded by Palmer Luckey in 2017. In 2018, a pilot program for the US government was launched for human traffic and drug smuggling detection in remote areas close to the southern borders of the USA. As of 2020, the company has received a contract the Advanced Battle Management Systems. Recently, in February, Anduril got another contract to lead counter-unmanned systems work for SOCOM.
