DeHaat Raises $60 Million at a $700 Million Valuation

DeHaat is an agritech start-up that provides farmers in India with a variety of agricultural services. It offers technologies that improve the supply chain and production efficiency in farming. DeHaat’s platform connects small farmers to their needs such as fertilizers, seeds, equipment, market linkage, and crop advisory via a wide network of trained micro-entrepreneurs.

The Series E funding round was led by Sofina Ventures and Temasek. Among other participants were RTP Global Partners, Prosus Ventures, and Lightrock India. “…We continue to be impressed by DeHaat’s vision and endeavor to empower farmers and local communities, and with this additional funding, we hope to create an even deeper and broader impact within the existing network as well as new geographies,” Yana Kachurina, Principal at Sofina.

DeHaat, Patna, India was founded by Adarsh Srivastava, Amrendra Singh, Shashank Kumar, and Shyam Sundar Singh in 2012. With the help of artificial intelligence, the start-up helps 1.5 million farmers across 110 000 villages in 11 states. For this purpose, it works with more than 10 000 entrepreneurs. The company plans to deepen its presence in Indian states. DeHaat has acquired 6 firms and is looking for more M&A opportunities.
