Astera Labs Raises $150 Million at a $3.15 Billion Valuation

Astera Labs is a semiconductor design firm that provides system-aware integrated circuits and boards. As well as services for the products to guarantee reliable and fast PCI Express connectivity. With the help of a partnership with leading cloud infrastructure service providers and chip vendors, the company helps to eliminate performance bottlenecks related to data-intensive cloud computing workloads.

The funding round Series D was led by Fidelity Management & Research. Among other participants were existing investors – Atreides Management, Intel Capital, and Sutter Hill Ventures. Astera Labs also claimed that it expanded its board of directors, as well as added key new products to its solutions portfolio.

Astera Labs, San Francisco, USA, was founded by Casey Morrison, Gajendra Akkasalamakki, and Jitendra Mohan in 2017. “This latest funding round is a testament that we are not only invested in the right growth markets such as cloud, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and hyper-scale infrastructure but that we are also able to consistently execute and deliver breakthrough connectivity products that are critical to our customers and partners,” Jitendra Mohan. To facilitate complex heterogeneous cloud server workloads, Astera Labs has developed a range of PCIe and Compute Express Link data and memory connectivity products. The most recent product is Leo CXL Memory Connectivity Platform, enabling faster provisioning and improved availability, bandwidth, and performance for applications.
