Airwallex raises $100M from Series E extension

Through a funding round extension, Airwallex, an Australian financial technology company, raised $100M and supported its $5.5B business valuation.

The company’s current investors, including those based in China and the U.S., are said to have significantly funded the extension.

Other participants included HostPlus, a Melbourne-based superannuation fund, and a North American pension fund.

Airwallex secured a total funding increase of $900M+, including the $100M raised in the Series E extended round.

Despite the challenging market environment Jack Zhang (the CEO and co-founder of the organisation) commented on, with the company’s constant business growth and clientele doubling, Airwallex accomplished a 184% revenue increase.

Not only is the Australian business flourishing, but it is also enabling other companies to sustain and accelerate their success by coming up with an “efficient way to operate globally,” Zhang adds.
