Verkada Raises $205 Million at $3.2 Billion Valuation

Verkada is a company that provides services in cloud-based building security. It includes alarms, door-based access control devices, video cameras, and environmental sensors. Besides, the service helps with mail room and guest management.

The funding round Series D was led by Linse Capital. “In the face of a challenging broader market environment, we see Verkada as a shining example of a business positioned to stay on its rapid growth trajectory, and we’re looking forward to supporting the team as they provide real value for Verkada’s end customers,” Bastiaan Janmaat, managing director at Linse Capital. MSD Partners L.P., as well as Felicis Ventures, Next47, Sequoia Capital, Meritech Capital, and First Round Capital also took part in the round.

Verkada, California, the USA, was founded by Filip Kailiszan, James Ren, and Benjamin Bercowitz in 2016. As of now, the company’s customer base counts more than 13 000 customers. Since the last funding round, Verkada opened 6 new offices and added 1000 more employees. “This latest commitment of capital is further validation from investors that we are well positioned to capture the opportunity that lies ahead,” co-founder and CEO Filip Kaliszan. Overall, the company has raised over $360 million since its foundation.
