Chainalysis Raises $170 Million at $8.6 Billion Valuation

Chainalysis is a blockchain analysis company that provides governments, banks, and businesses with blockchain data and analysis. It designs anti-laundering money software for Bitcoin businesses. Moreover, the company’s technology enables analytics to estimate criminal revenues and emerging threats with help of monitoring reports activity and diligence tools.

The funding round Series F was led by GIC. Since the last round in June, Chainalysis’s valuation has increased twice. The company became a unicorn in November 2020 in its Series C round. After that, in the round in March 2021, the company’s valuation raised to $2 billion. Then, that year, Chainalysis valuation doubled again after the Series C round, which was led by Coatue Management.

Chainalysis, New York, the USA, was founded in 2014 by Jan Moller, Jonathan Levin, and Michael Gronager. The company offers a variety of services and tools for its customers. Among them are activity monitoring reports, due diligence tools, cyber threats from the deep web for financial institutions, real-time application programming interface (API), and web-based investigation software for due diligence. Also, it provides verification of customers for bitcoin business and web-based investigation tools to identify cyber-criminals, as well as identification of bitcoin extortion payments made by victims to criminals, and attribution for cyber threat intelligence industries. Chainalysis’s client base is spread across 70 countries, as of now.
