Doctolib Raises $549 Million at $6.4 Billion Valuation

Doctolib is a company that develops a software-as-a-service platform for medical workers and doctors. It is an online platform that allows its users to find a doctor and book an appointment. On the other hand, the company helps doctors to solve administration tasks.

The new funding round was led by Eurazeo. Other investors were Bpifrance and General Atlantic. With the funding raised, Doctolib is going to increase the employees’ number, in plans to reach the number from 2500 to 6000 people in 5 years. Another intention is to expand the activity beyond the booking platform.

Doctolib, Paris, France, was founded by Franck Tetzlaff, Ivan Schneider, Jessy Bernal, Stanislas Niox-Chateau, Steve Abou Rjeily, Thomas Landais in 2013. As of now, the Doctolib platform is used by more than 60 million people in Germany, Italy, and France. The company plans to expand to 30 more cities. Besides the platform, Doctolib also has a Doctolib Médecin product to assist clients with documents centralization, patients’ history, and invoice issuing. Also, there is another product called Doctolib Team, messaging service for health specialists to discuss patients’ history and send documents in a secure way. 300 000 doctors use the platform, and the startup works with 250 hospitals.
