ConsenSys Raises $450 Million at $7 Billion Valuation

ConsenSys is a pioneering company in the creation of the foundational software for Web3. It is an Ethereum software Web3 company that allows enterprises and developers around the world to build up next-generation applications, accesses the decentralized web, and launch modern financial infrastructure.

The new funding round was led by ParaFi Capital. Among new investors were Temasek, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Microsoft, Anthos Capital, Sound Ventures, and C Ventures. Already participated investors also took part in the round – Third Point, Marshall Wace, TRUE Capital Management, and UTA VC, United Talent Agency’s venture fund.

ConsenSys, New York, the USA, was founded by Andrew Keys, Joseph Lubin in 2014. ConsenSys’ product portfolio consists of Infura, Quorum, Truffle, Codefi, MetaMask, and Diligence. They support billions of blockchain-based queries and serve millions of users. For example, MetaMask has more than 30 million Monthly Active Users, Infura has over 430 000 developers. The round proceeds will be converted to Ethereum. This funding will be used to increase the employee number up to 1000, redesign MetaMask Web3-wallet, develop of Infura infrastructure project, and other ecosystem development tools. “We believe ConsenSys’ ecosystem of simple to use, neutral, and secure Web3 products continues to foster unprecedented levels of engagement and we’re excited to help them take Web3 adoption to the next level,” Neil Cunha-Gomes, investor for SoftBank Investment Advisers.
