Roofstock Raises $240 Million at $1.9 Billion Valuation

Roofstock is a startup in the single-family rental home sector. It is the leading digital real estate investing marketplace that allows investors to sell, manage, and buy investment real estate. For this, Roofstock offers its clients research, insights, and analytics, thus they can evaluate and purchase independently certified properties at set prices.

The Series E funding round was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2. Other investors were both already participated and new investors: Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, Canvas Ventures, Citi Ventures, First American Financial, Expanding Capital, 7GC & Co., JLL Spark, SVB Capital, The Private Shares Fund, Masco Ventures, Newton Investment Management North America, Pegasus Tech Ventures, CAZ Investments, Moving Capital (aka Uber Alumni Investment Club) and DoorDash Angels.

Roofstock, California, the USA, was founded by Devin Wade, Gary Beasley (CEO), Gregor Watson, Rich Ford in 2015. With the funding raised, the company plans to bring new solutions to the market, double the Roofstock team, develop products and services, as well as look at strategic M&A. As of now, the company surpasses $5 billion in transaction volume, over half of it came last year. “It (Roofstock) has expanded beyond a marketplace for trading homes and has become a critical platform for anyone on a journey to generate wealth through real estate,”  Gregor Watson, co-founder, and Chairman of Roofstock.
