Immutable Raises $200 Million at $2.5 Billion Valuation

Immutable is an NFT startup that develops scalable blockchain infrastructure that transforms digital asset ownership in the video-gaming industry. Its eSport games are designed to make users familiar with blockchain technology. The company enables organizations to bring transparency in in-game economies.

The funding round was led by Temasek. Besides, it included Tencent, Animoca, and Mirae Asset. “We’re excited to explore integrations with Immutable X across Animoca’s portfolio of content–bringing next-level scale, security, and liquidity to the next generation of blockchain games,” Yat Siu, co-founder and chairman of Animoca.

Immutable, Sydney, Australia, was founded by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson in 2018. Originally, the company was known as Fuel Games. As of now, it transformed from a blockchain-based esports company into a developer of a platform for trading NFTs. The capital raised is going to be used for global expansion and growth acceleration. For this purpose, Immutable plans to scale the Immutable Gaming Studio and double the employee team of 165 people. The company’s flagship games “Guild of Guardians” and “Gods Unchained” are the two largest blockchain games in the world.
