Aurora Solar is a company that develops software for the solar industry. It is a cloud-based software that provides workflow management functionality, allows solar PV engineering design, as well as facilitates customer acquisition and sales for solar financiers and installers.
The funding round was led by co-led by Coatue Management and Energize Ventures. Other investors included Fifth Wall and Iconiq, and new investors Lux Capital and Emerson Collective. Since the previous May funding, Aurora Solar increased its valuation two times. The money raised will be used for hiring new people and fostering product development.
Aurora Solar, the USA, San Francisco, was founded by Christopher Hopper, Samuel Adeyemo in 2013. The company provides a digital platform for streamlining design and sales processes for the solar industry to speed up adoption. As of now, over 7.5 million projects were designed on this software platform. According to Aurora Solar CEO, Christopher Hopper, less than half of the cost of using solar energy is for equipment, more constraints come from processes needed to design, sell, connect, and permit projects. “We are thrilled about our next chapter and accelerating innovations that enable every member of the solar organization to benefit from data and AI, and ultimately deliver on the promise of solar,” Christopher Hopper.
