The funding round was led by Tiger Global and Sequoia Global. Other participants were Insight Partners, Sapphire, and Steadview Capital. The money raised will be used for product innovation, global expansion, and strategic corporate growth initiatives.
Chargebee, from Chennai, India, was founded by KP Saravanan, Krish Subramanian, Rajaraman Santhanam, and Thiyagarajan Thiyagu in 2011. The company’s client base consists of both start-ups and big enterprises such as Study.com, Freshworks, Calendly, and Goop. “As subscription offerings continue to rapidly evolve, our focus remains on providing a flexible growth engine to power, capture, and understand revenue, all in real-time,” Krish Subramanian, CEO. The platform covers the whole revenue cycle from the first interaction to closing books each month. Recently, Chargebee added new payment methods and gateways for revenue growth optimization. The company now has offices in San Francisco, Amsterdam, Salt Lake City, and Chennai.
