Via Transportation Inc. Raises $130 Million at $3.3 Billion Valuation for Transportation Industry

Via Transportation is a public transit company that provides commuters with public mobility solutions. The company develops apps for riders to pre-book pickups, check schedules, request paratransit services using real-time traffic data.

The recent round was led by Janus Henderson Group Plc. Along with them BlackRock Inc., ION Crossover Partners Ltd, Koch Disruptive Technologies, and Exor NV participated. Via Transportation is going to use new fundings for new market expansion and product improvement.

Via Transportation was founded in 2012 by Daniel Ramot, Oren Shoval in the USA. Now, the company has a partnership with more than 500 transportation companies in 35 countries. The main aim is to adjust routes and schedules in such a way as to dispatch vans, buses, shuttles in a more efficient way. “This is the most exciting time in transportation in decades. Cities around the world are recognizing the critical role that technology can play in improving the efficiency and quality of their transit networks,” said Via co-founders. Via Transportation focuses not on avoiding public transport but on making it modernized and efficient.
