Podium Raises $201 Million at $3 Billion Valuation for Business Software Industry

Podium is a startup that provides its customers with a platform for communication between businesses and its clients on the local level. The platform utilizes messaging features for enterprises to connect with leads, teams, and customers.

The Series D round was led by YC Continuity. Among other investors were Durable Capital Partners, Arpex Capital, Accel, Album VC, IVP, Sapphire Ventures, Summit Partners, and Sorenson Capital. “Podium brings world-class marketing and payments tools to the small and medium businesses that power our economy and employ the lion’s share of workers,” said YC Continuity managing director Ali Rowghani.

Podium, a start-up from Utah, the USA, was founded in 2014 by Dennis Steele and Eric Rea. In the beginning, it was a simple tool for mediating customer reviews, now, it became a platform with a variety of tools such as customer messaging, mobile payments, webchat, online reviews, etc. Podium’s client base includes more than 100 000 small and medium businesses. The company’s team consists of 1000 employees.
