Grafana Labs raises $220 Million at over $3 Billion Valuation for IT Industry

Grafana Labs is the company that is behind Grafana, the platform for time series data visualization. In its turn, Grafana Labs is a software maker that assists users in monitoring, observability, and visualization. Among the commercial products of Grafana Labs are Grafana Enterprise, Grafana Cloud included Prometheus, Graphite, and Loki.

The new investment round was led by Sequoia Capital and Coatue Management. Lightspeed Venture Partners, Lead Edge Capital, and GIC, companies that have already participated, at this round also invested. As of now, the company is valued at $3 billion, ten times increase since 2019.

Grafana was founded in 2014 by Raj Dutt. The company headquarter is in New York, however, it started to work remotely before the pandemic time. During 2020 the company experienced rapid growth. The reason is that more and more companies now depend on technologies. “We help companies like these build better software, make it more reliable, reduce downtime, troubleshoot issues,” Dutt said. “All of these things are getting super complicated and the importance is at an all-time high.”
