Postman raises $225 Million at $5.6 Billion Valuation for Computer Software Industry

Postman is the instrument that aims to develop, test, control an application programming interface, API. It allows clients to build applications, modernize legacy architectures, and to scale business processes in a faster and easier way.

The round Series D was led by Insight Partners, the existing investor – private equity and venture capital firm. Other already participated investors were CRV and Nexus Venture Partners. Among new investors, Coatue, Battery Ventures, and BOND were marked. Besides, several individual investors DoorDash Product Leader Gokul Rajaram and Freshworks Founder Girish Mathrubootham took part in the round. In total, within four rounds the company was managed to raise $430 million.

Postman was founded in 2014 in Bangalore, India, by Abhinav Asthana, Ankit Sobti, and Abhijit Kane. As of now, the company has 17 million users with 500 000 organizations on the platform. The main part of new investments will be spent on team expansion. Previously, in 2020, 300 more employees from 13 countries were hired. Another part of investments is to use for students support and a variety of open-source projects.
