Eruditus, the Mumbai-based company, is the online executive education startup that offers its customers 50 top world business schools’ programs. Among such schools are Columbia, INSEAD, Harvard, NUS, and others. The company provides its services in 80 countries, with more than 250 000 people participating. The company employs 1400 employees around the world and has its offices in 10 cities such as New York, Dubai, London, Singapore, etc.
The funding round lead investors are Accel US, American venture capital firm which already invests in Cloudera, DJI, Spotify, etc., and Japan’s SoftBank Vision Fund II, the venture capital fund. Another investor is the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. At that moment, the Eruditus is valued at $3.2 billion – it compounds of primary capital infusion and secondary stake sale.
In sum, two co-founders, Chaitanya Kalipatnapu and Ashwin Damera, of the Eruditus were managed to raise approximately $834 million since 2016. Adding to this, Ashwin Damera holds approximately 40% stake, being one of the few start-up entrepreneurs who keep a large stake in mega unicorns.
