Khosla Ventures is a venture capital firm that was founded in 2004 by Vinod Khosla headquartered in Menlo Park, California. In the beginning, the firm was closed for institutional investors, the company invested only money of Vinod Khosla.
While establishing Khosla Ventures, Vinod Khosla aimed to assist businesses that not only focused on profit, but also on social impact. The most passionate he is about poverty elimination and microfinancing as a tool for it. For this purpose, Vinod Khosla supports a lot of financial organizations in India and Africa. Moreover, he has also participated in education (Academia.edu, Kiddom, Piazza), global housing, and agriculture (Bioconsortia, Granular, NuTekSalt) innovations.

In total, Khosla Ventures has already made approximately 1 000 investments. The companies are from various industries including steel manufacturing, HVAC, energy consumption, cement, fabrication – deep tech-sectors (NanoH2O, Calera, NewGlass). This sector is not widely invested by venture capital firms; however, Khosla Ventures has a special approach. This approach includes the opportunities, the size of the impact on society, and technology efficiency. Examples are Rocket Lab, which launches rockets, Voyage, self-driving taxi service.
